B-52s’ Kate Pierson looks incredible at the age of 76 and fans are in disbelief.
The B-52s were a classic band that formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1976 and had huge success in the 80s.
But you’d hardly believe that the band’s key vocalist was in her mid-seventies as the she looked completely ageless in a recent post.
The Love Shack singer posed for a recent photo alongside fellow 90’s popstar Lisa Loeb, 56, and Lyle Lovett, 66.
Kate wore a purple velvet blazer, and her trademark red hair was loose and long in this reunion photo.
Recent images of Kate show that this flawless wrinkle-free complexion isn’t a one-off and the singer seems to have been defying ageing for years.
Several photos show that the singer looks just as good today as she did back in the 80s.
The B-52s had a number of hits including Rock Lobster, Summer of Love and (Meet) The Flintstones. They were nominated for three Grammys in the early 90s and released seven studio albums over their career spanning decades.
Their most iconic hit was most certainly Love Shack which was released in 1989 and was hugely popular – still today making its way onto lists of the best songs of all time.
Kate did embark on a solo career and in 2015 when she was 65, she released her first solo album titled Guitars and Microphones.
The album wasn’t met with huge critical success, but it was a passion project for the artist.
Kate told Spin: ‘ It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but never could get it out there into the public.’
‘I mean, the B-52s has been kind of all-consuming. You know, we started early in ’76. We toured a lot. I’ve always wanted to do a solo record.’
She added: ‘I just wanted to be more real and emotional. The B-52s, you know, our songs are about volcanoes or lobsters.’
Decades on from their initial success, the band took on a Vegas residency in 2022 which began in 2023 with dates scheduled for 2024.
The band is no longer a fivesome following the passing of guitarist Ricky Wilson who died of AIDS related illness in 1985.
The foursome pays tribute to their late bandmate and shares videos and photos of him frequently.
The B-52s Vegas Residency continues in November this year.
